Planning approval secured for industrial development in Oldham

Acland Bracewell has successfully secured planning permission for new industrial facilities at the Oldham site of The P.P. Group of Companies Limited, one of the UK’s leading independent profiling and processing firms.

Founded in Walkden in 1976, P.P. Group has grown from modest beginnings in a cotton mill basement into a nationally recognised company, operating from a 6.5-acre site in Oldham. In 2018, the business restructured and rebranded, merging its three divisions under a single identity to drive growth and innovation. As part of its wider expansion strategy, the company identified the need for two new buildings at its Oldham base to support continued success.

Acland Bracewell prepared and managed a comprehensive planning strategy, working closely with the client, technical consultants, and contractors. The full planning submission addressed a wide range of key considerations, including site context, highways, drainage, ecology, flood risk, and sustainability.

Given the scale of the proposals, which sought to deliver over 1,390 sqm of additional floorspace, the application was presented to Oldham’s Planning Committee, where it received unanimous approval.
