F & A Baybutt are well established growers of Main Crop potatoes, with yields reaching approximately 5,000 tonnes per annum. Due to the continuous expansion of the business, it was identified that a new refrigerated agricultural building, specifically designed for the purpose of storing both loose and boxed potatoes was required as the existing potato storage building no longer met the needs of the business.

The proposed new building would provide a clean, ventilated, temperate controlled and insulated building, allowing the applicant to monitor the store temperature regularly, ensuring they are kept at temperatures of around 8°C. The building would also minimise levels of condensation and reduce the need for post harvest chemicals.

Acland Bracewell Surveyors Ltd prepared and submitted a Pre-Application Advice request following which independent consultants were instructed including; Highways, Ecology, Topography and Drainage, These necessary reports and assessments were undertaken in order to mitigate the concerns raised by the Local Planning Authority. Acland Bracewell Surveyors Ltd then utilised the surveys and prepared and submitted a Full Planning Application.

The proposed building was recommended for approval subject to landscaping details and Full planning permission was granted on 25th June 2015.
