In September 2020, outline planning permission was granted by Wigan Council for the 76 acre master plan over South of Atherton for up to 830 dwellings, together with open space, road infrastructure and landscaping with all matters reserved, except for access off Bee Fold Lane, Crab Tree Lane and Leigh Road. Following the grant of planning permission, Acland Bracewell were appointed to market the first phase for up to 120 dwellings, in which significant interest in the site has been received.
